Client Accounting Coordinator - Cambridge
Due to continuous and considerable growth we now require a Client Accountant Coordinator to join the business and assist with the management of the team. The Client Accountant is part of the New Business and Technical Team within the Client Accounting department. The role forms a vital part of the team, working closely with the Estate Management and Business Development teams and will also require regular interaction with external accountants plus some client correspondence.
The purpose of this role is to supervise a team of client accountants and to manage the finances of a portfolio of estates.
What you'll do
- Monitoring the workload of those in your team and ensuring theirs and your own milestones are signed off in a timely and accurate manner: Service Charge Accounts, Quarterly/Periodic Financial Reporting for clients, Service Charge Budgets, Issuing Accounts and Year End Balancing Adjustments, Utilities and Insurance Recharges, RMC Statutory Accounts and Trust Tax Administration, Service Charge Demands, Ground Rent Demands, Ensure Ground Rents are remitted to freeholders in a timely fashion
- Training those within your team, providing mentoring and leadership and being a positive supporter of the Encore Way. Undertaking regular group and one to one meetings with your team
- Annual staff appraisals and probation reviews
- Being the first port of call for queries within your team and attempting to resolve these before escalating them further. Encouraging your team to put forward a solution when raising the problem
- Ensuring bank reconciliations for client estates are completed monthly and no transactions are left without being investigated. Ensuring no account goes overdrawn
- Reconcile opening balances for estates handed over from other agents/developers and ensure accurate integration with Qube
- Liaising with Client Accounting Manager to assist with system and procedure improvements and to help develop commercial awareness across your team
- Monitor the general health and correctness of the service charge accounts associated with your portfolio, supporting Estate Managers with relevant information. Identifying the need for S20B notices
- Assisting the accounts team and other departments with day to day / adhoc duties
What you'll bring
- 5+ years accounts experience
- Part-qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA or qualified by experience
- Preparation of year-end accounts. Experience working within an Accounts Practice is desirable but not essential
- Experience in service charge client accounting is desirable but not essential
- Experience with Qube software is desirable but not essential
- Be legally able to work in the UK.
